‘Desensitized’ Paige Spiranac Reveals How ‘Hate’ Transformed Her in Achieving the Golf Queen Title

It hasn’t been an easy journey for her. Although Paige Spiranac rose to fame owing to her online content, she did not have the best of starts as a golfing influencer. However, her growth has been unprecedented, cementing her spot as the second most popular personality in the sport after the legend of the game, Tiger Woods. But the diva could only reach this position thanks to the hate directed at her at the start of her career.

Surprised? That’s exactly what the blonde beauty revealed in one of her Q&A sessions on her Instagram handle. Meanwhile, she also went ahead to dub her situation as nothing short of “lucky,” all the while reminiscing about her journey, in which she went from being hated to not being hated as much, and perhaps even loved!

Paige Spiranac now just laughs at her haters

“I think I’m just so desensitized to it ’cause I’ve been doing this online for such a long time now,” confessed the 30-year-old on social media when asked about how she stayed positive amidst the unwarranted hate. Adding on, the model divulged how she doesn’t feel like people are even all that mean anymore, even when they try to be. “I think it’s just funny for the most part.”

Additionally, Spiranac talked about the start of her influential career and the change she experienced over time. She recounted, “I was really hated when I started doing this, and over the years people have warmed up to me,” before disclosing how it’s now “a lot easier.” Moreover, the ravishing American also claimed she was fortunate. “In a weird way, I guess I’m lucky that over the years, people have just started to like, not hate me as much,” she said with a smile.

During her talk, the golfing queen also made sure to compare her situation with others who enter the field of influence and are loved from the start, after which they have to deal with hate from fans. Elaborating on the mental toll it takes on a person, the diva said, “It’s much easier to come in hated and then have people slowly start to like you over time, compared to being loved and dealing with hate for the first time.”

Although she came out candid on the role the fans’s hate had on her career down the lane, the start wasn’t that easy for her. Conversely, Spiranac has had her vulnerable moments as well, all thanks to the online abuse she raked in during that time.

Spiranac once wept publicly because of the hate

Back in 2016, the athlete had a major emotional breakdown during a press conference. Divulging the reasons for the same, she revealed the online abuse she experienced a while before. Adding on, the blonde bombshell disclosed the cruel comments she received, which attacked not just her but her family as a whole. What’s more, she was also called “a disgrace to golf,” among other things, all while admitting how it affected her self-esteem.

Fast forward to 2024, and she is now one of the most savage internet personalities in the realm of sports and social media influence. She even once brutally clapped back at some of her followers who dished out sexist comments against the golfer. Well, after all these years, one thing is for sure: she has undoubtedly been an inspiration to each and every one of her ardent fans, who have and still look up to her!
